Community Education & Professional Development

The YWCA provides a wide variety of community education classes throughout the year that provide education and professional growth. Pre-registration is required for all workshops with seating limited to the first 20 register/paid participants.


All classes will take place at YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region, 723 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708.

Become a Mentor Workshop

Workshop Fee: Donations Welcome

Date: April 17, May 15, and June 12 - Attend one or all sessions


Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30pm

Relationships between a mentor and mentee can be life changing. This workshop will focus on how you as a mentor can do the following:


• Build self-esteem

• Build relationships & trust

• Educate and share resources

• Broaden perspectives

• Encourage and support



Fundamentals of Establishing a Website

Workshop Fee: Donation of $25.00

Date: May 8th

Time: 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Learn basic options for developing a website for business or personal activities. This workshop will focus on the following:


• Building your own website vs. hiring a hosting company

• Designing your website to fit your needs

• Evaluating the cost related to development/hosting

• Exploring the benefits of website marketing


Grant Writing Fundamentals

Workshop Fee: Donation of $75.00

Date: May 29th

Time: 4 – 7 pm

Learn the fundamentals of a successful grant writing. In this workshop you will learn:


• Grant basics

• Prospect Research

• Cultivation and Proposal Process

• Leave with manuals covering material

• Schedule potential one-on-one meetings after workshop



Ann Arbor Street Art Fair Bus Trip

Cost: $35.00

Date: July 21st, 2012

Time: Bus leaves at 8 a.m. from Kmart parking lot on Euclid and picks up at the fair at 6 p.m. for the trip home

   

Join us for a fun-filled bus trip to visit the 53rd Annual Ann Arbor Street Fair! You trip will include:


• Transportation to and from the Art Fair via the comforts of Mitchell Motorcoach
